“Life always offers you a second chance. It’s called tomorrow.” – Dylan Thomas
Poignant choice of quote today Spidey, as the date marks one year since my near miss accident on the M6 last year.
For those of you that remember, you’ll know about the way my car lost control and how I ended up spinning across the motorway, with cars whizzing by… For those of you that weren’t here for that part of my journey, you can read more here.
I might not have been around to write this post if it hadn’t been for my Guardian Angel looking out for me that day, and for that angel, I am truly grateful. It made me feel like I have been given a second chance at life.
But the reality is that we really do have the chance to start over, every new day. There is always the chance to change your direction each dawn.
Well, actually every new moment is a chance to change things…
I’m still making mistakes during this ‘second’ chance of mine, but I am aware that I can keep learning, and be changing every day to make myself a better person and to make life a more wonderful place.
As it is, I am sat here with my arm in a sling – my right arm too! Yes, clumsy klutz me has struck again. I fell over at the end of the school day on Friday and managed to bang my arm. A trip to A & E yesterday confirmed that I have a hairline fracture in my elbow, ouch! So it’s off to the fracture clinic for me tomorrow. Joy!
Obviously, this weekend is not the luckiest of my life, what with an accident last year, and now this injury… But I shall not let it get me down… There is still a smile upon my face, and even though it will be slow, what with typing with one hand, I may get a little more time to write, since I can’t do much else!
Has life ever handed you a second chance? Did you grab it by the horns and use it?
Stay positive 🙂
Happy Sunday Peeps!

My Dear Ritu!!! Hugs and Love and get well soon!! Ah, A new challenge on how best to write all banged up? Hey, maybe you can try some of that dictation software? We can talk faster than we can type. You might get way more done?
Best Wishes, Dear! Heal up soon. They say a broken bone is actually stronger at the break once it heals??
This was a wonderful post! Love the way you write!!!!

I think we do get second chances Ritu. We might not always recognise them at the time in that surviving car accidents doesn’t happen to everyone so I’m grateful your guardian angel took control that day of your accident. I think for me finding the courage to get out of an abusive marriage was my second chance. It hasn’t been clearing sailing since that day, but I have family as in kids around me and a roof over my head. It could always be worse.

I wish you a fast recovery, my poor sister! But I am glad, it is only a hair-fracture in your elbow and not that kind of accident like last year.
Just don’t make a mental note in your mind for “this” weekend. But of course, it is easier said but done after such a trauma.

Oh my, that sounds painful! I hope it doesn’t take too long to heal up.
Second chances… I haven’t had near death experiences, closest was being behind a vehicle that did and watching it all happen before my eyes!
We stopped to help after their vehicle was flipped up and over the barricades and landed in a ditch facing the opposite direction. It was terrifying, but they were all fine. That was a wake up call. Wow…
I love that quote at the top! Happy Sunday xx

Wait, both arms are in a sling? How are you writing? You poor thing! As for 2nd chances, I’m like many humans where you have what you think is a near death experience. You then begin to make declarations of how you are going to start going to church, to eat better, to seek your dream. 1 week later, I’m into my 4th glass of wine on the sofa, binge watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
