“If I die here, mum’s gonna kill me harder!”
Reception pupil at our trip last week, upon being told to be careful as she climbed rather high up a tree!
Enough of a comment to raise a giggle here!

It’s Tuesday, and that means Colleen’s Tanka Challenge! Of course, just providing a couple of words would be far too simple, so we have two words, yes, but we can’t use them! Only synonyms allowed!
Except it’s the first Tuesday of the month which means
Poet’s Choice of Words – Shattered & Rejuvenating
This one is dedicated to me this week… so tired after looking after an ill child, multiple training courses, noisy animals, and a lot of broken sleep…

Tired
Can't wait
To lie down
And close my eyes
Head hitting pillow
Drifting into slumber
Hoping for a solid sleep
With no nasty interruptions
No cat mewling at me for his food
No children with raging temperatures
No husband needing my attention
Just me, snuggled up in my bed
Oblivious to the world
Refreshing my body
My mind and my soul
Ready to face
Anything
The world
Throws.

Linda’s #SoCS prompt this week:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “for/fore/four.” Use one, use ’em all, use ’em any way you want. Bonus points for using all three. Enjoy!
Oh, Linda, you chose the best words to be honest for me to use today!
There is something at the forefront of my mind today, that involves the number four, well, actually, a one and a four.
Today is the day my Lil Man turns fourteen!
How did that happen?
From a teeny twinkle in my eye, through a painful journey to conceive and all the wonder, joy and frustration that accompanies bringing up a child, to the young man he is growning up to be now…
Fourteen, though? Really?
And the day he arrived was even more special, as he made his appearance on his granny’s birthday!
So that means it’s my mummy’s birthday too.
See.
A special day for us all.
So excuse me if I don’t reply too fast… I’ll be busy celebrating the birthdays of two very special people. One is with me, one isn’t, but they’ll both be in my thoughts all day.

Happy Birthday Lil Man and Mum!!!!

Charli’s prompt this week:
June 27, 2019, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story that involves paint. It can be fresh, peeling or in need of a coat. What is being painted and why? Go where the prompt leads!

Painting Passion
“Mrs Smith, you can come and sit over here.”
I put my book into my bag and sat at the chair indicated by the technician.
“What are we doing today, Mrs Smith?” She smiled at me, awaiting my answer.
“I’d like my nails painted please, Jemima.”
I chose my colour, a deep red, always my favourite.
Red, the colour of passion
Apt for our date night.
It had been a long time since we’d been out together, as a couple.
Usually, it was all about the children, but tonight was for us.
Time needed, to keep the romance alive.
