Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 109 #musicalmarch special

Spidey

“Before becoming a Sikh, a Muslim, a Hindu or a Christian, let’s become a human first.” – Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Spidey and I may have shared this before, but thinking of life, and how we are all treating each other right now, I think our first Guru had wise words to say.

Today I share a shabad (hymn) with lyrics and translation below.

Beautiful rendition by Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji Srinagar Wale

jaa parabh kee hau chayrulee so sabh te oochaa.
I am God’s maid-servant; He is the highest of all.

All things, big and small, are said to belong to Him. ||1||

jiye praan mera dhano saahib ki maneya.
I surrender my soul, my breath of life, and my wealth, to my Lord Master.

naam jise ke oojlee tis daasi ganeeya. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Through His Name, I become radiant; I am known as His slave. ||1||Pause||

veparvaahu anand mai nau maanak heera.
You are Carefree, the Embodiment of Bliss. Your Name is a gem, a jewel.

One who has You as her Master, is satisfied, satiated and happy forever. ||2||

sakhi saheree sang ki sumat darirhaavau.
O my companions and fellow maidens, please implant that balanced understanding within me.

sevhu sadhu bhau kar tau nidh har paavo. ||3||
Serve the Holy Saints lovingly, and find the treasure of the Lord. ||3||

sagli daasi thaakurey sabh kehte mera.
All are servants of the Lord Master, and all call Him their own.

jisahi seegaaray naankaa tis sukheh basayraa. ||4||15||117||
She alone dwells in peace, O Nanak, whom the Lord adorns. ||4||15||117|
Have a blessed Sunday Peeps ☺

#SoCS Mar. 18/17 – Man

Linda’s SoCS prompt this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “man.” Use it as a word by itself or find a word with “man” in it. Have fun!

Man, what a week! I actually am proud that I managed to get through my first week back at school after the accident, and still feel relatively human at the end! The senior management team were supportive, all my colleagues were great too!

And I managed to maintain my weight loss this week too! And my man got me my new car!

A lovely week for this woman!

Day 18 – #musicalmarch🎵

Day 18 of #musicalmarch🎵!

I dedicate this one to family, of all sorts!

The first song has to be We Are Family by Sister Sledge!

And if you’ve been following for a while, you know I did a little singing of my own, dedicated to my blogily!

And my Eastern family song is from a film called Kya Kehna – Eh Dil Laya Hai Bahar

Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 32 – #icandothis

Quick recap… I have reached that target weight, and I am happy to announce that I have stayed the same again this week! My food has looked a bit like this…

Last week I said I would try and share some recipes that I have been using over the last few months. There is so much that I have made, simply by throwing things into a pan, but if you have any specific requests,I would love you to ask, so I can see what I can do!

I thought this week I would start with a simple breakfast recipe of Quark pancakes.

1 tbsp of Quark
1 tsp of sweetener
1 egg

  • Whisk the ingredients together to make your batter.
  • Heat up a pan. I use Frylight spray, or a few sprays of olive oil to grease the pan.
  • Pour a little batter in at a time to create small pancakes. This is easier as a large one is quite hard to turn, without it falling apart!
  • Turn, and cook on both sides until golden brown, then put on a plate and serve with whatever you wish!
  • For a slightly savoury twist, I add bacon that has been cooked with the fat cut off, and then drizzle Agave Nectar on top instead of Maple syrup.
  • For a sweet alternative, I place mixed berries on top, sweeten some quark with a little sweetener, and dollop that on top of the berries. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top and you have a lovely sweet breakfast that feels quite decadent!
  • For those that are slimming world followers, you just have to syn the sweetener, and any agave nectar you use! Pretty low syn breakfast if you ask me!

Enjoy! And remember if there are any requests for specific recipes, do let me know!
