TJ’s prompt this week:

Flower & Simply

Focus your brain
Welcoming an idea
To simply flower

Ritu 2017

Or…

Focus your brain
Allowing an idea
To simply flower

Ritu 2017#

Two variations that Graeme suggested I showcase together, showing two focuses or focii!

Which one do you prefer?

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 138

“It’s OK to be a glowstick. Sometimes we need to break before we shine.” – Anon

What an absolutely fantastic thought Spidey has brought to the table this week!

I rather like the idea of being a glowstick.

The thought that something broken can give the greatest results.

There are often situations in life where you are pushed to your limits. You work yourself to the bone. You wear yourself so thin that that final straw easily breaks the proverbial camel’s back.

But this saying makes me think that being broken is not a bad thing. Being broken means that you get a chance to peer inside yourself, and find that inner strength and glow that you would have never realised was there, had you just plodded along.

So if you are feeling broken, if things haven’t gone the way you wanted, summon the strength to mend yourself, and allow that strength to carry you forward to bigger and better things!

Thank you, Spidey!

Have a glow-tastic Sunday Peeps!

Happy Birthday To The Militant Negro! 🎉🎊🎂

Today I wanted to wish a happy birthday to an extremely supportive blogger amongst us.

The Militant Negro!

Here he is in all his glory!

A few months ago, I found my posts getting a regular reblog or share by someone I was unaware of. As I thanked for the share, we started upon a dialogue of sorts and D’ya know what? It’s a bit of a secret, but he is really rather lovely!

He’s gone from writing many posts and describing himself as:

…to a blogger who wants to share the words and work of fellow bloggers across the artistic board!

He shares hundreds of posts a day, and I know he shares the posts of many of my own Blogily too!

So here’s a voice of appreciation to say thank you for all the wonderful shares and more importantly…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

What Unites Humanity?: A BeWoW Blogger’s Post

Annette has sparked a poetry sharing frenzy with her Random Acts Of Poetry post!

She suggested dropping poetic lines anywhere and everywhere, and I would have done that, but being a little unwell I couldn’t… so I share one I wrote a while back for Ronovan’s BeWoW challenge!

Humanity

A simple heart, beating strong
Crimson blood running through veins long.
A pair of lungs breathing fast
A skeleton that’s built to last…

Muscles, tissues, fat, and skin
The important thing it’s all encased in

White, black, yellow, or brown…
But why do some of these raise a frown?
Why concern for some, and hate for others?
Are we not all sisters and brothers?

Is each body not the same?
Just the difference of a name?
A bit less melanin here, than there
That that makes you superior, I was not aware…

Respect life, no matter what creed
For every colour has a need
Humanity in harmony, what I’d love to see
A dream for all?… Or is it just me…

Inspired by Ronovan’s #BeWoW weekly post share

But I Smile Anyway...

#SoCS Oct. 6/17 – Save/Safe

This week, to aid Linda while she is doing all things authorly, we have Joey from Joeyfully Stated  providing us with the post for the #SoCS prompt!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: save/safe. Use one or both. If you start and end with either of them, you’ll get bonus points.

Safe is not the way I like to play. Well, actually that’s not entirely true.

I used to be the safest person you ever knew. I did everything by the book, never crossed lines that I wasn’t supposed to. I took it all, whatever was thrown at me, without  questioning it at all.

I mean, that’s what a good Indian daughter/daughter-in-law/girl does, isn’t it?

I guess that’s where I got the reputation for being the way I am.

But over the years, I have learned that just because I don’t do whatever I am expected, it doesn’t mean I’m not ‘good’.

Just because I may enjoy a night out with the girls, or the odd (non-soft drink) beverage with them, it doesn’t make me a bad person. Just because I cut my hair, it doesn’t make me disrespectful,

I have taken to questioning decisions made on the assumption that I will be happy to go with the flow, and it has done wonders for my well being!

Just because I smile all of the time, it doesn’t mean I agree with all that is happening, and if I feel strongly enough, I will say so.

It has given me an element of respect at work, and caused others to realise that I am not a push over, in other aspects of my life.

Now… I am off to publish this post but before I do that, I must remember to press ‘Save‘!
