It’s Here! It’s Here! December’s Here!

So excited that the festive season can officially start now!?!

Ok, so I know that there are crazy stores who have had Christmas things out for months, but rally…

It’s December 1st. I shall bust my Christmas CD out for my car now, and the weekend will bring the tree decoration fun… Working out where to place the tree, so Sonu Singh does not go too crazy trying to climb it in the middle of the night… And finally finishing the Chrismans shopping… Ashamedly, we have only got one present so far for the kids!

But we are planning on doing a big charity present bundle this year, and Hubby Dearest really wants to volunteer somewhere too.

And as for the craziness that is nursery…

We got our class Advent calendar up last night, ready for the children to see, and will be decorating the tree in the morning, then Undecorating it at lunchtime, so,the afternoon kids can help to decorate it too… Then no doubt, we will remove said decorations again, to make it look decent!

The kids have already been busy making decorations and learning Christmas songs for a little showcase to their parents ar the end of term…

My favourite moment so far…?

When a little girl excitedly told me she wants a ‘Christmas Crapper’!!!!!

‘BANG!’

Happy December Peeps!!!!

Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge #73 – Black & White

image

Monday night means me sat at my kids Dhol and Bhangra lesson, thinking up haiku for Ronovan’s Weekly Challenge… Check it out here.

The prompt words this week… Black & White

The Same
Whether black or white
Makes no difference to me
It’s your heart that counts

Cleansing
Your purity will
Wash away all the darkness
Colouring my life

Glass
A day of black thoughts
Brings out the devil in me
Need a glass of white

Ronovan’s Friday Fiction #3 -Mile High Club

So, Friday is coming to a close and it ends with a fiction prompt from Ronovan. Check it out here.

This week, unlike the last 2 weeks, the challenge is a photo, rather than prompt words.ย  I ended up going a little more light hearted this week.

It was a dream.

It was just a dream.

Damn!

Why did she have to wake up just then?

A few moments earlier, she had been 30, 000 feet in the air, looking out of aircraft windows, gazing out at a beautiful azure blue sky. Below, the Atlantic Ocean stretched out as far as the eyes could see.

Nella looked around her and took in the other passengers. She couldnโ€™t believe she was flying First Class! There were another 9 seats in the area, but only 2 were taken. One was a middle aged man, head lolling to one side. He was fast asleep, the luxury reclining seat stretched fully back, eye mask on to block out the bright sunlight.

The other was a young man. She couldnโ€™t quite see his face, he was wearing sunglasses, but the profile, looked quite pleasant.

She settled back and smiled. Yes, this experience was something else! Just lucky positioning in the queue, she guessed, but when they went to check in, the guy at the check in desk looked at his computer screen, after scanning her ticket details, and said that they were upgrading her! Not the other members of her party, her 3 friends, just her. Strange, but she wasnโ€™t about to look a gift horse in the mouth, and after a quick glance at her group, who were giving her the thumbs up, she happily took this bit of fortune and skipped off to the departure lounge.

Seriously, this was good! At the touch of a button, her seat was a bed, and press it again, and it was a chair again! There was no piddly monitor on the back of the seat in front, more like a personal flatscreen TV, with a wealth of channels, movies and music to flick through. Yup, sure beats cattle class! She reached forward to take a sip of her drink, Champagne, no less. Oh yes, this was the life!

One of the airhostesses came through the curtains, and proceeded to pull down blinds, and dim the lights. It was obviously rest time, and those in First Class couldnโ€™t sleep with the sun, apparently. (Though that theory was already smashedโ€ฆ check out baldy over there, he might even have been drooling now too, gross!) With a quick smile, and an enquiry as to whether the passengers were ok, she left them again, reassuring them she was at their service, if they needed anything, and to just press the button to call her.

Nella went to lay back, and close her eyes, but she felt as if she was being watched. She looked across and saw her companion staring over at her.

That wasnโ€™t just a lookโ€ฆ that was โ€˜The Lookโ€™! And now she could see his whole faceโ€ฆ he was hot!

But she didnโ€™t even know him. Hadnโ€™t even said hello.

Did people still join the Mile High Club?

โ€œOh my god, why did I even think that?โ€ she muttered to herself, colouring as she looked away.

Thoughโ€ฆ chances donโ€™t always come as good as this oneโ€ฆ

She turned to give her best alluring smile at the hottie across the aisle.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The alarm woke Nella with a start. She looked around. Nope, no plane, no champagne, no hottie, it was definitely her old grotty bedroom that she had woken up in.

Stupid alarmโ€ฆโ€ฆ..!

Wow! You Put Up With Me For A WHOLE Year!

image

Today marks my blog’s first anniversary, my blogiversary.

What a year! I honestly can’t believe it! How has it already been a year?

To think, it started with just a silly little post, and slowly it grew, and grew, and grew!

I managed to kickstart my creativity again, write fiction and poems, air my views, give you an insight into my life, and the crazy members of my family… And my cat. Don’t forget Sonu Singh!

wpid-2015-10-29-18.34.45.jpg.jpeg

I learned how to build my own blog up, with so much help from other bloggers. I even learned some html, to Hubby Dearest’s amazement!

Special thanks here to Dr C , Tom , Chris and Doug , to name a few!

I found out about challenges, and became a regular participant in poetry chalke gets, like Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku challenge, and fiction, like the Flash Fiction Foray, by Matt, The Book Blogger, and more recently, Ronovan’s Friday Fiction challenge, and Hugh’s Instagram Photo Prompt challenge.

I put my novel, Wedded Stress -a work in progress- online to get some very encouraging feedback too!

Untitled3

I created some regular features, like Spidey’s Serene Sundays, and the Kids Logic run of posts, which seemed to tickle your fancy too!

I have been awarded so much love in the forms of awards, passed onto me my various bloggers, who made my day so much brighter by even thinking of me!

But the biggest thing… It’s my blogily. All of you. The community that we have here on WordPress.

I have to give special mentions to some bloggers who have given me so much love, and have become part of my daily life, My true Blogily! My blog sisters Erika and Judy, and my blog brother Rich. And Rib Rob, Sue, Linda, Geoff, Sandra, Tonya….  to name but a few!

If I missed anyone’s name specifically it is not that I forgot you, I would just end up with a post full of links and names… but you are all special to me! โค

Reading what you write about, responding to comments, having conversations… I feel I know some of you better than some of my actual family!

So can I just say here, thank you so much for being here on this journey with me, accompanying me over this year, and here’s hoping this experience lasts a long long time!
