Happiness Tinged with Regret. ..

It’s Friday, yay!!!!
We’ve had a lovely time at my parents. And even extended our stay by one day, as Hubby Dearest suggested it… 2 nights flew by and he knows how important my parents are to me.
Bless him!

But you know we can’t have everything and much as I love being here, the kids and I miss Daddy and Sonu Singh too!

So it’s time to pack our bags and get ready to drive that looooong journey home.

We’ll be back in another county by around lunchtime.

Then I’ll be sat at home missing Pops and Mum!
I can’t win!!!!!

But then, maybe I already have…

Just yesterday I spoke with my best friend  and sister from anotha mista after months… we don’t see each other much or even speak much nowadays because of life… but 110% we are there for each other.

The fact that I have places to go, family that cares,  people I love.

Of course I won! They’re the ones that give me peace of mind and the strength to continue, even in the face of adversity.

We don’t all need money and material possessions to have won the game of life. Having people who care about you, people always there for you, that’s winning 🙂

Have a wonderful Friday Peeps! I’ll catch ya when I’m back home!

Hugh’s Photo Challenge: Week 13 – Love

hughs-weekly

Love… That is the word prompt for Hugh’s Photo Challenge this week.  A photo of something that encompasses what love means to you… Check out the challenge here.

There are so many different types of love… from family to friends, platonic to romantic.

What to choose!?

Well, I decided to look to my wonderful parents for inspiration for this challenge. they are truly my inspiration for when it comes to love, and seeing how two people can overcome anything, as long as love is there. I couldn’t choose one photo, there are 4 I have put together in a collage.  I hope you can see the love they have, emanating from each shot.

And the poem, this time, is one I wrote when it was their anniversary.

A love like yours
We wish to achieve
That blanket of life
We want to weave
That unerring faith
You have in each other
The respect that you show
For one another
You’re there for us
Whenever the need
The advice you give
We’ll always heed
If we only had half
Of what you had
We’d be so lucky
And we’d be glad
A marriage built
On respect and love
You truly are a match
Made up above.

I hope you enjoyed 🙂

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 52

“Pain is not love. Love flowers ; love gives without taking; love is serene and calm.”  – Erika Jong

A Valentine’s day thought for you all.
May all your days be filled with love, not just this one.
Love requires no fancy presents, cards or flowers.
A daily smile, a cup of tea,  being there… that’s love. Real love.

Can You Love, But Not Like?

wpid-wp-1445288367160.png

Have you ever felt that way?

You love a person with all your heart, but you don’t like them?

It doesn’t have to be thinking of just romantic love, it can be a sensation that is felt across the board.

You know, when you love your parents, but when they deny you the pleasure of going out somewhere, or buying you some much coveted trainers, when you where younger, you soooo don’t like them!  It’s teen angst, we are all allowed that feeling!

Or your siblings.  God knows I love my brother, but there were times as youngsters, when I really didn’t like him, and I am pretty sure he didn’t like me! Those times when he got what I wanted, or got me into trouble with the parents for something, then sat there sniggering…. Ooooh I really didn’t like him then!  That is a siblings prerogative, though, and more often than not, you get older and realise what they actually mean to you.

And within your romantic relationships, you can love someone, not want to live without them, but there are things they do, or maybe something happens and you really don’t like them for what they did.  It may be their behaviour towards someone else, or a really bad habit. Love is strange, as you learn to accept certain things, maybe not for the right reasons, but because you love that person.

And why stop there…

What about your chidren?

I love my kids with all my heart, but sometimes when they do things I really don’t like them! It’s like when Lil Princess whines, or I hear that she may be being a little madam with some of her friends… I will never stop loving her, but I definitely don’t like her then.  Does that make me a bad parent?

What do you think?

Spoilt Sonu Singh! – well… it is his birthday!

Thank you to all of you for the purrrrrfectly wonderful birthday wishes for our special kitty!

This year we went out and the kids chose presents for him.  His old scratch post was getting a little tatty, so they chose a new one for him, and then he got his very own leather jacket! (I kid you not, but you know what I am like with getting him dressed up!

Oh we love our Sonu Singh!  Happy 2nd birthday again sweet kitty!
