Feeling whole again

He’s back!!
Hubby Dearest is home after what sounds look like 3 gruelling days at his new job!

His mind is boggled with new facts and figures, and trying to remember countless new faces and their names.

In fact I learned a new phrase from him, I think he learned it there too. He’s used it countless times over the phone…
Brain-dump.
There. New phrase. Never heard it before!
Brings all sorts of images to mind… Like brain taking a dump, releasing itself of all useless information… Or taking your brain and dumping it for a new one, but no, its new lingo (well, new to me!) for overload of new information! Literally dumping new stuff in your brain.
Poor guy was exhausted, home at nearly 10pm, after almost 3 hours on a train. I could almost see the excess of information seeping out of his ears, eyes, all orifices around his overloaded brain.

Red eyed, headache starting, all he wanted was a hug, his beer and a bed!

The kids are over the moon to have Daddy home. Lil Princess already said he can’t go again, its not ‘normal’ at home when Daddy’s not here. Lil Man jumped on him this morning… I winced slightly, would tired daddy monster rise and holler? “It’s OK mummy, I have 3 days of annoying to catch up on!” And you can see the love in sleepy daddy’s eyes as he replied “Don’t worry, when you’re back from school, I’ll get you back! Remember I haven’t annoyed you either for 3 days!”

And me? I’m just glad to have my huggy bear home!  This new job means a few regular stints away, but we will handle it, after all absence makes the heart grow fonder! 💕

Just a tad excited!

Yay!!

OK so we managed to arrange a night out… Sans kids…

image

That's right!

The loverly and ever so helpful in laws are having the little munchkins for the evening and night to give us some much needed time alone/time out!

Lil bit of shopping, some dinner, maybe a movie!

But you know what, it’s typical… We arrange this then immediately Hubby Dearest wonders whether we should take the kids… Will we spend all the time seeing things the kids would like, discussing them over dinner? Probably…
But I draw the line at watching kids films while they aren’t there!!!

No, we are going to have a great time!

Yeah!

Virtual hug Anyone?

Squeeeeeze!

I love hugs!
My parents were always the huggy kind!
Same goes for the majority of my family!
Nothing a tight squeeze won’t make feel a little, if not a lot, better!
All together now (((squeeeeeeze)))!!!
☺:):mrgreen::D😄
If you want to do something that will help someone every day, in the new year, find anyone who needs it, n give em a hug!

HUGGY NEW YEAR!!

Looking back at 2014 ☺️…Ushering in 2015 with a smile!😊

2014…
It’s been a good year in many respects…
The BIGGEST reason? Well, I became an auntie!!
The beautiful Sonu Singh joined our little family
I got a promotion of sorts.
We spent a lot more quality time as a family.
There were several beautiful weddings in the family.

There’s much to be thankful for…
Thanks that we’re all still here, in one piece, ready to start the next year.
Thanks for keeping a roof over our heads.
Thanks for the support of our families through tough times.
Thanks for allowing my children to grow and flourish into the loons they are today.
Thanks for the friends that have stayed by our side through thick and thin.

There’s been sadness…
Losing loved ones.
Hearing sad news about people in the family.
Tragedies around the world.
Not being able to see my new nephew yet.
Not getting Lil Princess to stay in her bed… Thereby not getting full nights sleep!

But 2015 is nearly here.
Not even 24 hours left of this old and creaky 2014…
So, I’ll spend a few hours ironing, and cleaning,
Changing bed sheets and vacuuming.
In the hope that if I’m not doing these things tomorrow, on New Years Day,
It means I won’t be doing just that, all year!
Yup, silly superstition in Ritu’s mind!

What I aim for, me and the family, next year.

1) Continued Happiness

2) Getting to Finland to see my gorgeous Nephew!

3) Further success at work/school, for us all

4) Losing that half a stone that just seems to live my belly so much, it won’t go away!

5) The ability to operate a washing machine without dying the family’s clothes pink, or yellow! ( long story but I’ve never done that before, and yet this year, 3 times!!! Hubby Dearest’s shirts, kids uniforms… Yup, I’ve altered em all!)

6) This one is along the lines of #5… Taking care with my dryer! I’ve shrunk far too many things this year, forgetting to take thinks out of the load before switching the dryer on!

7) Really getting to grips with what I love to do, writing… Maybe there is something in what I write, maybe I can make it a success.

So, hopefully that’s all kinda achievable! Well I hope so!!

All that remains for me to say is …
🎉🎊Happy New Year to my new blogging family!
May all your wishes and dreams come true!🎊🎉

Very proud!

I’m extremely proud of myself this year, you know!

I have a great fear of dogs, especially big ones, and yesterday we had a BIG visitor!

My Hubby’s cousins came for Christmas day with their gorgeous Blue/Irish Staffie, and, aside from the worry about how Sonu Singh would cope, I wondered how I would!!

image

Its ok I'm in my tunnel, I'm invisible now!

Well we couldn’t risk them in the same room, so it was a case of in out in out shake it all about, dog in kitchen/kitty in living room, dog in living room/ kitty in bedroom, dog in garden or walking/ kitty free!!! But we managed it! There were a couple of either side of door encounters, where Sonu hid as soon as he heard doggy snuffling, but other than that, went well!

image

In the kitchen, destroying his present!

And in the end me n the big 36kg lump hit it off! He’s an excitable boulder of shiny fluffless fur!!

image

Beautiful!

I have to add to this…am now left with a lovely bruised arm from trying to hold his harness so he didn’t rush out the front door after his daddies at one point… He’s so strong, he dragged me along and I ended up bashed against a door frame! See, I was brave!!!

Ouch!!!
