Day 11 #Loveuary❤ -Passion

loveuary

“Passion can come without love, it’s true, but true passion is only felt with the one you love.” – Ritu

And a little limerick, to lighten the mood!

There once was a girl filled with passion
For everything very high fashion
Silk stockings she bought
Her mother was fraught
For she’d used their very last ration!

Day 10 #Loveuary – Finding You/Flame #writephoto

loveuary

A little fiction, based around my prompt words ‘finding you’, and tying my #Loveuary post in with Sue’s #writephoto prompt this week.

flame

Jack looked over at Jamie and Rose, cosying up next to their Grandma Maggie on the small sofa. The flames from the fireplace cast a warming glow over the room.
“Nan nan,  how much do you love me?” six-year-old Jamie turned to his grandma.
“Oh my handsome boy, I love you as far as you can see,” and she smiled, her eyes crinkling at the sides.
Those eyes, Jack thought. They may have old skin around them now, but they still held the same beauty to him, as they had fifty years before.
“But do you love me more than Grandpa Jack?” the cheeky chappy questioned.
Rose’s two-year-old eyes were drooping. She sucked her thumb and snuggled in closer to her Grandma. Maggie put her arm around her infant granddaughter and held her close.
The love in those arms, the same love she showed to our own children, all those years before. Jack almost felt that he was looking at his wife in the throes of motherhood.
What he wouldn’t give to get back to those days… or even just a few years back.
To see those eyes look at him, filled with love, once more. To feel those arms pulling him closer in an embrace.
But he had to be satisfied with this, simply watching… Cruel fate had intervened in their happy life, snatching him from this Earth. He was grateful that he could still be there, watching over her, his Maggie.
I was lucky to find you all those years ago… now I’ll wait, for the time when you come to find me…

Day 9 #Loveuary – Stupid Cupid

A little poem for today!

You never know
When Cupid’s bow
Is primed, ready to strike

The shopping mall
A dancing hall
Or maybe on a hike!

It’s nothing tragic
Just his magic
Working in the air

And then you find
You’re of one mind
What a beautiful pair!

Nothing stupid
‘Bout our Cupid
He knows just what to do

With one strike
He changes “I like”
Into “I love you!”

Only love can show the way

Day 7 #Loveuary❤ My Furbaby

loveuary

I can’t write about love for my family and miss out this one key member… Sonu Singh.

Sonu Singh is our beautiful 3-year-old kitty. If you had asked me a few years back, whether I would ever have a pet, I would have laughed in your face!

Don’t get me wrong, I do love animals, but our life didn’t feel like the sort of life where an animal, apart from fish, would ever fit in.

Hubby Dearest would have loved a dog, but, though I don’t mind them, I have a childhood fear of them which I haven’t quite totally got over. So he started looking at kittens, as he knew I liked cats.

I was packed off to a Parents evening, with my children as he was ‘going out’ and I arrived back to find this ginger fluffball in a box! Aside from the fact we had NOTHING for a kitten in the house, he quickly filled our hearts with joy, and Sonu Singh is firmly part of this family.

I often find myself talking to him, having random conversations. And he does the same to us! He’s an indoor cat so he thinks he’s human anyway!

And here is a little poem I wrote for him a couple of years ago. It was actually for World Poetry Day in 2015. I do love my kitty 😻

He looks at me
With soulful eyes
They make him seem
So terribly wise
A look that takes
Your breath away
And eyes that seem
To want to say
Why can’t I eat
What you have got?
Why can’t I sleep
Upon the cot?
When can I
Go out to play?
Will you leave me
Alone today?
My darling boy
Why can’t you see
You’re wholly part
Of this family!
You might be furry
And we’re not
But love for you,
There is a lot.
