Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 260 – Peace

img_00411

“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

Buddha

Thank you for this thought provoking quote, Spidey.

I’ve spent a few months now, running myself ragged with all sorts going on, from family commitments, to work responsibilities, to that writing and publication journey of mine.

Somewhere along the line, something had to give, and if I wasn’t careful, it was going to be me.

This week off has been a blessing for me. It’s given me time to centre my thoughts, focus on the things I really want to achieve, and I have had quality time with my family too.

I know that I need to achieve a balance in my life so that I manage to stay centered, and achieve all I am trying to.

It means I need to first accept that I am only human, and that I have a lot on my plate.

I need to remember that I can only do everything if I stay as calm, and organised as I can.

I know I am busy. I know I am not SuperWoman. I know I can achieve all I want and more, as long as I believe in myself.

I feel happy being the me I am.

I think that is truly feeling at peace with myself.

Now to build those habits to make sure I stay at peace with myself, and can hit all the goals I have set myself.

So… tell me, do you feel at peace with yourself?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps  And enjoy your week! ❤

#WritePhoto – Glimmer

Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt this week:

It is there.
It may seem far away.
But if you believe, you can see it.
A glimmer of hope, like an oasis in a desert.
Shining through in the darkness of the world we live in.
Peace will reign one day, in the future. We just can’t lose our faith.

Thursday photo prompt – Peace – #writephoto

Sue’s back with her #WritePhoto Prompt this week!

“Now this,” tour guide Tim indicated, “is the famous bed!”
His words were greeted by coos of excitement and eightened whispers in all manner of languages.
The 20-strong group were the fifth he’d taken around today already.
“Yes, here is the bed where Snow White lay, after consuming that poisoned apple, given to her by her Evil Stepmother. Here is where the seven dwarves congregated each day and night, keeping watch over the body of their beautiful princess. And here is where the Prince came to kiss her, and wake her up!”
Cue the phone cameras and proper cameras clicking, image after image from all angles.
“What, you want to lay there and have your photo taken? With your own Prince Charming kissing you? Hmm… Well this is a historical landmark… I’m not sure I can bend the rules. If everyone was to request the same, the bed would be worn away by now. But, if you are prepared to make it worth my while…”
Pocketing another £50, Tim happily clicked photo after photo. Several others came over and requested a similar photo opportunity in various forms of Pidgin English
He led the group back to the coach half an hour later, patting his pocket… Nice little earner! These tourists are so stupid! Don’t they realise Sleeping Beauty was just a Fairy tale!
And that bed? Just knocked up by a friend of his! Or so he was told. Who cares, anyway? He was making a packet with this Fairytale tour!
Unbeknownst to him, seven pairs of eyes followed him back, peeking from a nearby bush…

#London #Together #Strong

A nonet inspired by the awful happenings of last night…

When will all this fear and hatred end?
Lives taken for no true reason?
Evil, you will not break us
We are tougher than that
We will not run scared
We stand as one
Together
London
Strong
Ritu 2017

Last night I went out for the first time in a long time. And the end of my evening I was made aware of these happenings at London Bridge and then Borough Market.

It saddens, and sickens me, and pretty much all of those around me too. My kids question why?

Lil Man, this morning, said, “When I grow up, I’m going to put posters up everywhere saying ‘Where is the love?’ That’ll help.”

If only it were that simple.

It’s the repercussions that worry me.

Take today. There is a BIG cricket match. India Vs Pakistan.

For those with not much sense, what a great target for a revenge attack!

Pakistan – Muslims!

India – Brown faces!

But most of these terrorists haven’t been of Pakistani descent, and aren’t from India either.

Yet that is not the point either.

I am already having flutterings of panic about going to London next week for the ABBA’s. Still, I won’t let it beat me, and we can’t let these idiots ruin life for us. As long as we, the majority, stand together, wherever we are, humanity will win.

“An eye for an eye will only make the world blind.” Mahatma Gandhi

Peace out there Peeps, to you all.

Stay Safe London, and everywhere.

Song Challenge (Music That Means Something) Day 3 Imagine – John Lennon

A thank you goes out to fellow blogger and friend, Lisa, for nominating me for this fun challenge. The rules are:
Post a song a day for five consecutive days.
Post what the lyrics mean to you.  (Optional)
Post the name of the song and video.
Nominate 1 or 2 bloggers each day of the challenge.

Today I think I’ll choose Imagine by John Lennon.

I remember the time I first really got to know this song, and to consider the lyrics. We were singing it at a concert on my 6th from. I was around 16 or 17. The words really struck a chord, and as the years have gone on, they seem all the more poignant.

If only there was more peace in the world…  I know it is something that we all wish, but not something easy to accomplish given the present global situation.

Still, we can enjoy this beautiful song together at least, and hope that one day it will happen.

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

And today I nominate my Brother Syl and the musical maestro that is Rob.
