Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 95

“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.” – Mary Anne Radmacher

Spidey was obviously thinking of my Lil Man when he found this quote, on this fine Sunday.

Those of you that regularly read my blog will know that last week passed with plenty of drama in his little life. After a nasty hit on the head the previous Thursday, by a football, he was suffering concussion. As it was a hit to the same place he had managed to get concussed from 2 years ago, it was a little bit of a worry.

He was in a lot of pain every day.

But credit where credit is due. Every night he would be the positive one, saying “I’ll see tomorrow mummy, I want to go to school.”

Every morning he would wake, eat breakfast and try to get ready, before he admitted that it hurt too much.

On Thursday, I was going to call the school and say that we would just leave him off for the week, and try again on Monday.

He stopped me and said “No mummy, I still want to try to go to school tomorrow.”

I was so proud of him this week. Seriously.

Despite being unwell, he was a true soldier and attempted to get himself ready, before admitting defeat.

I know plenty of people who would milk an injury or illness for all it’s worth, and if the doctor says a week or two of rest, well they would just take if, even if they only needed a day or two!

But not my boy!

So we will see what Monday holds for him. If today is anything to go by, he will be fine!

But it is a lesson for us all, to never stop trying, or hoping that things will get better.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday my dear Peeps!

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr Seuss

I do like this quote that Spidey found for us this week.

I fear we spend far too long worrying about what others will think, often suppressing our own desires and true selves.

We are human, born with our own opinions, our own looks, our own thoughts.

Embrace you

You are special.

You are unique.

Surround yourself with those who love you for who you are, not those who wish for you to change parts of your physical appearance, or your opinions, in order to garner their approval.

Seriously. They really don’t matter.

Enjoy this Sunday being you, and make sure you continue to be you every day!

Happy Sunday Peeps!

“A change is as good as a rest .” -origins unknown.

So ‘they ‘ say… and I’m all for this saying. But  it doesn’t always quite work out!

I’m currently sat at my in laws house on a Sunday Morning. We had an impromptu sleepover last night.

Cue frantic rushing back and forth to collect various items for the kids, food and water replenished for our furbaby Sonu Singh who would be flying solo for the night, and various chargers and electronic gadgets!

Hubby Dearest wanted to do this for ages. A night in his old home. Mum and dad in law are away visiting the Motherland at the moment so my bro and sis in law are home alone.

We’ve had a good time. A relaxing evening together and I think the kids had fun too.

But… I’m afraid I got no rest.

I slept with Lil Princess and Hubby Dearest slept with Lil Man.

And the girl snuffled her way through the night, then started whimpering.

A nightmare in which a class mate of hers was strangling her (!!??) meant she slept fitfully. Meaning I did too.

And my natural body clock wakes me around 6.30 as well, so a late night, coupled with the automatic wake up call meant not much sleep.

Then there’s the fact that it wasn’t  my bed! Nothing can match your own bed for a good night’s sleep!

But… ever positive, it was a good time to reconnect with the family. Since mum and dad have gone we have been spending more time, just the four of us, rather than with the others. It was needed!

The kids are trying out badminton coaching this afternoon . .. I may take the opportunity to catch up on my sleep !!!

Have a wonderful Sunday Peeps!!!

“You don’t need someone to complete you. You only need someone to accept you completely.” – Anon

Seeing as it’s our anniversary weekend this weekend, Spidey found something that kinda ties in with that.

A true thought.

Why do we spend so much time trying to find that missing piece? That one person who will make us feel whole?

It is really a wild goose chase, as we are already whole. Each of us is different, and we’re made up differently physically, as well as emotionally. As much as we look different, we act differently too.

That’s what makes us unique, who we are.

Something I always like to say is that “We are all imperfectly perfect, in our own way.”

Within each of us there is something amazing.

But there is often something not quite so nice lurking in there too.

Love, be it romantic, familial, or friendship, is all about acceptance. If you love someone, you love them for all their flaws, as well as their perfections.

And if they truly love you back, they are accepting you, just as you are.

I am by no means perfect. Heck, ask my Hubby Dearest! But then neither is he!

We have our arguments and bickering sessions, as well as sickening displays of full-on love and affection.

He loves my curly hair, and hates it when I want to get it cut.

He isn’t a big fan of social media, yet he knows it is something that helps me, with my blog and writing, and keeping up with my countless family members!

He’d rather rush in and out of the shops, and can’t understand when I chatter away to people.

But these are just things that are part of me. And he totally accepts them, just like I accept him for who he is, and what he is.

I was me before, I am still me now. Complete. But with an amazing extension attached, that is ‘him’! (And vice versa!)

Have a happy Sunday Peeps!

Enjoy your day, and be complete!!

“No outward change need trouble him who is inwardly serene.” – Hosea Ballou

I think we are all troubled, to some extent, by occurrences of this week.

We’ve had Donald Trump getting elected as President of the United States, a thought that didn’t even seem feasible! But then no one thought Brexit would have happened, and it did!

The Indian Prime Minister has decided to target black money circulating in India, and with no notice, has withdrawn 500 and 1000 rupee notes, causing havoc and commotion, not only among the ones who were illegally hoarding cash, but also the many poorer people who have no bank accounts, and can only use cash.

These are only two issues from the week, and they are biggies. The changes that will occur due to these two events will have a tsunami effect on millions of people.

In life though, it’s not only the big changes that can shock your world to the core. Some small changes affect certain people hugely.

From an upheaval at work, to a family member coming to stay. New baby on the way, or a death in the family. Your local supermarket changing their layout (that can be sooo stressful!) to traffic on the way to work.

But it’s all about how you handle these changes, however big or small. If you are sure of yourself on the inside, you can handle whatever comes your way.

It is so important to approach change with caution.
Try not to rush into any decisions, but take a little time to ponder.
Think about what the changes are, and how they are likely to affect you.
Try not to get worked up or over excited.
Control your feelings, so you don’t say anything you may regret.

They are all quite hard to do but I have seen others who take this approach, and they tend to not be overly affected by changes in their lives.

I try hard to be the same. It is not easy. I have a tendency to open my mouth then try so hard to push words back in, but it’s too late to stop them then! However, if I try hard to stay calm, stay rational, I can usually manage to cope with situations without putting my foot where it doesn’t belong!

Stay safe Peeps, and have a calm, and restful Sunday on this Armistice Day, with no major changes happening, unless they’re positive for you!!!!
