The Annual Blogger’s Bash Awards, In Verse! #BloggersBash

#BloggersBash #London #bloggers #blogs

Have you heard about the blogger’s bash,
Known fondly as the ABBA?
A chance to meet the Blogily
It’s frankly all quite fabba!

Not only can you mingle
And put faces to names
But also you take part
In the ABBA annual games!

By games I mean awards
Where votes will have been cast
And winners will be being announced
First, second, third… not last!

A chance to hear some speakers
Experts giving forth advice
And a panel discussion
We must, of course, be nice!

We’ll raise a glass to each other
Give thanks for all the support
And rush off to practice
All the lessons we’ve been taught!

So what are you waiting for?
Go, book your ticket quick!
And place your votes quite sharpish
The winners may be your pick!

Brown Skinned and British – #Manchester

I’m brown skinned and British
That’s what I am
Don’t label me by colour
Just see me, if you can
Don’t question my religion
Beliefs don’t mean a thing
Cos in the grander scheme of life
I’m jus’ a human being
So I may pray quite differently
And eat other types of food
But to label me a terrorist
You know that’s kinda rude
Get to know me, talk to me
And then I guess you’ll see
That there ain’t no difference
Between you an’ me
We need to live in harmony
And celebrate our quirks
Jus’ please don’t judge me
By the deeds of other jerks

I’m lucky I haven’t experienced racism because of the acts of terrorism around the world, but I know of many innocent people who have been labelled, who have suffered because of their colour, and beliefs… Beliefs that don’t condone the acts of those who use the name of God to destroy lives.

These are just my words in solidarity with the majority of brown skinned British, who are just as horrified as their pink-skinned countrymen.

After the attack on Monday night in Manchester, we have heard of many acts of ‘revenge’ on innocent muslims who are just as horrified by the goings on of that night. But they are just like all the other Brits out there…

DON’T JUDGE FIRST….TAKE TIME TO LEARN A LITTLE… THEN MAKE YOUR JUDGEMENTS.

Peace out Peeps 😊

A poem from my book, Poetic RITUals, that is extremely apt this week… (available myBook.to/PoeticRITUals)

Two Hearts – #RomanticTuesday

love-1643452_640

Two hearts yet one beat
Connecting us forever
For eternity

We face everything
Floating through life hand in hand
Kindred souls entwined

Electric touches
Igniting untamed passion
Like a naked flame

WRITESPIRATION #115 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 19 – The Right Place To Write

Sacha’s prompt this week for #Writespiration.

This week, I want to get to know you. Pretend money is no object, describe your perfect office or writing location, or make it up, make it random or describe the craziest place you’ve worked.

I wrote this 52-word piece first… Maybe the craziest place I have written…

Sitting here, right now is probably the loudest writing spot I use!
For the last two years, I manage to squeeze in an hour’s writing time at my children’s Dhol Lesson!
Imagine… Between four and twelve large drums beating, often not in time, providing me with inspiration… and often a headache too!

Then the drums provided me with inspiration to write a 52-word poem too! (Hope this is allowed Sacha!)

As a writer I have no home
I have no writerly fixed abode
In the dining room or on my bed
I scribe the stories in my head
My phone, tablet, laptop too
Occasionally, while on the loo!
But to have a space that’s truly mine
Now that would simply be divine!

Sue’s #writephoto prompt this week…

Sitting here
I reminisce
Think of all
Those things I miss
All those moments that
We shared
All those feelings
When we cared
What went wrong
I’ll never know
Yet watching the tide
Come and go
I’ll think
Of you
And our love
So true
That monument
Marks where we’d meet
The secrecy
Turned up the heat
But then you said
we had to stop
Our idyllic bubble
You made to pop…
You left me there
And walked away
But memories
Are here to stay
