Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 319 – Time Flies

“The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.”

Michale Altshuler

Thanks for this, Spidey.

You are so right to point this one out, today.

It’s the last day of our Easter break, and I can’t quite believe how fast the two weeks went.

The first, I pretty much wrote off, what with the grief I was suffering from losing my uncle. It’s still there, of course, but the rawness of his passing was much tougher, especially the lead up to the funeral.

This last week, I had plans.

Aside from ferrying Lil Man to and fron Cricket for six of the seven days, I wanted to start really clearning out the summer house, and attic. We even got a skip ordered.

But, quite obviously, my pilot decided that wasn’t the route to take.

Instead, I still did the ferrying around, but did precisely nothing, clear out, wise!

The truth?

I was exhausted.

Mentally, physically, emotionally.

That meant, to let time fly, and me not do what I had intended, was the best course of action for me.

So, are you a good pilot for your time journey?

#Blogmas2018 Ritu’s Blog Tips #23

Day 23

My muse, my tea my workstation!

Give your blog time

I cannot say this often enough…

Your blog is your baby, and no baby can run, let alone walk, as soon as it is born.

You need to nurture it, feed it posts lovingly, water it with comments, and give it the extra sunlight of exposure through sharing in order for it to grow…

Don’t be disheartened by the stats of other bloggers, or by your own.

Keep going.

Baby steps.

And before you know it, yours will flourish too.

But remember, it doesn’t happen without time and work on your behalf.

Me And My Dur-Brain!

So, it’s the day after my WIP has finished completion (first draft stage, anyway).

What am I planning on doing to celebrate?

Why not go to school to get some prep work done, before class starts up again on Monday?

Usually we get into school from 7.30 am, so I duly deposited one child for a sleepover at her friends house the night before, and arranged to drop the other off at his uncle’s early this morning so I could get uninterrupted work done.

The idea of getting up early wasn’t a nice one. I’ve been enjoying lie ins… (unheard of for mummy me, but the kids are getting to that age where they wanna stay up later, but boy can they sleep, if allowed, in the mornings!).

But the alarm was set, and off it went at 7 am.

I was good, didn’t rely on the snooze button.

Messaged my colleague to confirm what time we were meeting, and she said probably about nine as the school wouldn’t be open before then.

D’oh!

So I could have had an hour’s extra sleep?

Typical!

Note to self: always double check plans the DAY before!

Never mind. It’s given me a bit of extra time to write this!

Oh well, better get ready now!

Have a great Thursday Peeps!

One Liner Wednesday – #1linerweds – Time

“How can six weeks of holiday speed past as if they were mere minutes, yet the one week leading up to them take, what feels like, a whole year to pass?”

For Linda’s #1linerweds challenge!

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – Jan. 2nd/17 – Time

My entry for day 2  of #JusJoJan with Linda G Hill.

The Just Jot It January 2nd prompt, brought to you by JoAnna, from her blog “Anything is Possible,” is: “Time.” Use it any way you’re inspired to. And make sure you stop by and say hi to JoAnna as well! Here’s her blog: https://joannesilvia.com/

Just reading the prompt word brought the Cher song, “If I Could Turn Back Time” to my mind.

We can’t though, can we?

There are so many things that happen in life, so many events of note, conversations that change the path of your life. Some for better, some for worse.

It’s great if you are one of those people who are able to take a breath, and think before you speak or act, but let’s be honest, I think there are a lot of us who tend to be more impulsive with our reactions.

There are times when that impulsiveness will work in your favour, but many a time, that good old thing called ‘hindsight’ kicks in, and you wish you hadn’t said that or wish that these words had tumbled out of your mouth.

Thing is, we can’t turn back the clock, and revisit that same time, or moment.

And the way that things work out will depend on the reactions of the others around you. If you’re lucky, a simple retraction or apology might work, but sometimes you may have crossed the line. Trust broken, hearts shattered, dream bubbles burst.

Once that trust breaks, though, can you repair it? Will a patch up work, or is that crack going to be visible forever?

“Everything  happens for a reason.”

So they say.

But when you are wallowing in a sea of misery, because of something stupid you said or did, you can’t help but wonder what that reason was.

If only we could turn back time

Time – a Tanka

Once a moment goes
You can’t get it back again
Can’t change anything
Revisit it, remember
It’ll always be the same
