#SoCS July 1/17 – Ooooh, Aaaah!

It’s Saturday, which means time for the #SoCS prompt! This week, as Linda has “a gazillion things to do” Dan Antion of No Facilities is filling in!

An interesting prompt this week Dan, thanks!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “ooooh, aaaah,”. Use it as a phrase, or break it apart. And since I love bonus points, bonus points if you somehow manage to start and end with all or part. That’s about it, oh yeah, I almost forgot – Enjoy!

Ooooh, aaaah!
Every time I move my arm!
I seem to do myself more harm!
Ooooh, aaaah!
My shoulder is killing me!
I am filled with self-pity!
Ooooh, aaaah!
Not easy to teach like this!
Should really give classroom dancing a miss!
Ooooh, aaaah!
Not sure what to do!
Think I’ll go and make a brew!
Ooooh aaaah!
Seriously
Heat spray is the thing for me!
Ooooh aaaah!

Dan, you are a hard task master too! But hope this got the points lol! My shoulder has really been hurting for the last few weeks… possibly an effect of the accident in February? Still, it made for good fodder for this post!

Sue’s Prompt for #WritePhoto this week.

Part one of Becca And Jack’s story – here

Becca lay in bed gazing out of the window.

A week or so had passed since she had been rescued.

Jack had been an angel, honestly. He’d taken time off work to look after her and had been amazing, tending to her every need.

And now she was starting to feel stronger. Strong enough to go out for a walk, or a hobble with her crutches, to get some fresh air, and to clear the stifling vibes that had been building up inside.

He meant well, really he did, but from the moment she woke up, until the second her eyes closed, he was there.

This morning he was pacing, she knew there was something he wanted to say, and in the end he did.

“Who were you going to meet, that day?”

She had genuinely been going for a walk the day she inadvertently slipped down a tunnel and got trapped in a tunnel for a few days. It had been because of him that she had needed to escape the house.

The constant questioning and suspicion had got all too much and she needed to think.

To clear her mind.

Usually she would have been rather meek in her response, bumbling some story to prove her whereabouts, but after four days trapped in that tunnel, some sort of resolve had built up inside.

“For goodness sake Jack, I was out for a walk! I tripped I fell. Isn’t it punishment enough, that I was trapped for days, with an injury, without you making it all about you?”

Jack sat, slightly shell-shocked. Becca had never answered him back before.

“Right, well, I’ll just go and make a cuppa…” He left the room.

But only for a few moments.

Becca knew.

Looking out of the window, she watched the beautiful Kite soaring over the rooftops. Not far behind her was another. Imagining the first bird to be like her and the other to be like Jack, she thought “See, they never leave us alone. Always there, following us, checking up on us…”

A quiet knock at the door heralded the entry of her Jack, tray set with two cups of tea and a plate of biscuits.

See? He just can’t leave me alone…

WRITESPIRATION #122 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 26 – Toast

Sacha’s come up with another corker this week for our 52 word challenge on the #Writespiration prompt!

Your challenge is to write your story using the weekly theme/prompt and write it in just 52 words…. EXACTLY, no more, no less.

And the prompt is TOAST!

Toast, White Bread, Slices Of Toast

They’ve placed me in this torturous device.
It felt strangely secure initially, but no more.
I can feel my outside starting to tighten…
Please! No! Oh how I long for my softness to reappear!
He’s waiting for me, Torturer…
POP!
Waiting with the knife and butter, he smirks and says, “You’re Toast!”

One-Liner Wednesday – #1linerweds

“The end of term is nearing… Blooming Marvellous!”

Excuse the back scratcher, cap and card in the background lol!

It is less than four weeks until we finally break up for the summer holidays. The days are crawling by, but filled with all sorts; data, home visits, reports, preparations for the next year, alongside teaching our current classes.

It is always hard to say goodbye to your class. Yes, even the tough ones end up with a little spot in your heart! But when they up and leave before you’re ready to let them go, that can be a little tougher!

We lost one pupil as he was moving to another part of the country a few months back. That was bad enough. Then one went to India on an unexpected trip which he still hasn’t returned from. Not even a chance to say goodbye! Another had to go back to the Motherland due to family issues so we bid another sad farewell…

And last week we were informed that yet another was leaving us early as she had to go with her mum back to their home country to sort out passport issues before she started big school in September. Such a lovely little thing, and she wasn’t even going to be staying at our school, due to family living too far from us.

Monday was full of misty-eyed hugs, and her mother kindly gave us each a bunch of beautiful flowers.

End of year is a wonderful time, seeing how much your class have grown, physically, academically and emotionally, especially at this tender age, but it’s always just a little hard to let go!

Of course, the lovely gifts and cards we get, help to soften the blow! 😉

For Linda’s One-Liner Wednesday challenge!

How do I always manage to make one line into a full blown post, lol! Seriously? I can’t shut up, sorry Peeps!

I breathe
I exist
Only for you
The passion
I feel
Runs through and through
Your touch
Your lips
Excitement does brew
Pure heat
A release
For our love is true
