R̶u̶n̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ Walking A Half Marathon!👀

Well, today I’ve gone and done something I didn’t think I’d be doing in a hurry…

My friends, the Tootie Frooties (remember them, featured here, here, and here ) and I decided we’d like to do a bit of fundraising, and seven of us have only gone and signed up for the Cancer Research UK Shine Walk in London on September 22nd!

It’s a walk through Central London at night!

There was the option of a full marathon, but I’m afraid none of us felt up to that much walking, no matter how wonderful the company!

But after chatting about it, we finally did it. Signed up, paid our fees and set up our fundraising pages too!

I am quite excited. Walking together, for 13.1 miles (eek!) at night will be amazing! Lots of opportunities for silly selfies and the camaraderie of a night like this is always phenomenal!

The Route

A couple of us did a Race For Life in Hyde Park, London, which was five miles, with our kids 8 years ago, so there may be feelings of Deja Vu, but we are all older and will have no minors with us this time!

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 180

“Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.”

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.

Thanks, Spidey.

Is it just me, or do others instinctively think of being at their parents’ house as being ‘home‘?

I may be forty+, married with a Hubby Dearest, children and pets of our own, with a roof over our head that is our home, but nothing can beat the feeling of going ‘home‘.

This building I visit, the house that Pops and Mum live in now, has never been the place I grew up in. In fact, they bought it shortly before I became a mother myself.

Yet it is ‘home‘.

Because of the people who live here, the love they have showered upon my brother and me, and the memories they created for us.

Don’t get me wrong, my own little home is a very special place, and when I am back in my normal life, there is nothing better than pottering around in my home.

But coming ‘home‘ is just the best feeling ever ❤

Which place feels like ‘home‘ to you?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds –

The holidays are here!… so why am I off to school again today?

Just a thought that probably goes through the heads of many non-teachers…

Including family and spouses.

I’d love it if, over the holidays, a classroom fairy came and waved a wand over our rooms, and magically made the previous year’s mess disappear, books filed away, and arranged for all the new pupils books to be ready, display boards to be all freshly backed and ready for us to start on the first day back.

But that’s not the case.

I’ll be popping in for a day (some will be in there for longer) to get things all organised, so I can then (kinda) forget about school for the summer, and concentrate on the kids, my hubby, and my Pops (might get some writing in there too!) for the rest of the break, until it nears the end of August, when we are back officially!

And the fact that I have been in during the holiday means I can start with a less stressed mind, knowing everything (almost) is ready for the new year!

Right, off to pack my school bag, one last time for this academic year… have a good day!

“Just because you’re happy doesn’t mean the day is perfect, it means you’ve looked beyond it’s imperfections.”

Bob Marley

Thanks, Spidey.

Isn’t this a great thought to ponder upon?

I hope you have a perfect day too. 🙂

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps ❤

One-Liner Wednesday – #1LinerWeds – Exhausted

Five. More. Working. Days….

Just one more week to go until we break up, and I cannot wait! It’s been an extra hectic end of term with family stuff on top of the usual school duties… I am crawling towards next Tuesday!!

No more alarms, thank goodness! getting a little rest, before the new year starts, in between going to be with Pops and Mum, and a few trips to keep the kids occupied.

But what I am not looking forward to  is constantly being referee to the kids… and I know that is going to happen… Gah!
