Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 125

“Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.” – Connor Franta

What a beautiful quote Spidey found to ponder upon today!

It’s amazing what a simple smile can do.

A random smile from even a stranger can light up a dark moment for you.

To be greeted with a smile makes for a more positive start to each day.

I smile.

A LOT.

It gets commented on a lot too.

I am known for my positivity wherever I go.

When I was at university, I was described as ” That smiley, curly haired girl from Birmingham.”

One of my previous employers said to me that it was a pleasure to have me around as he could guarantee a smile whenever he saw me.

I’m not talking about sneers or sarcastic smiles, or cheesy grins, just genuine smiles.

And I smile pretty much all the time. It’s just me. It makes me who I am. It makes me feel happier in myself, and makes me look at all situations with a more positive eye.

Of course, there are times smiles are not appropriate, and I know that too.

You won’t find me grinning inanely at a funeral or at some sad or bad news.

But otherwise, it is there, more or less permanently.

Of course, there are always those who can’t stand a happy face! (Why ever not? Surely it’s good to smile!)

But I refuse to allow them to drag me down to their miserable depths!

Don’t they know how many facial muscles I am exercising every time I smile?! It’s my daily workout!

Have a Smiley, happy Sunday Peeps!

#SoCS July 8/17 – Ick

Linda’s prompt for #SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “ick.” Find a word with “ick” in it or use it as a word itself. Have fun!

A couple of limericks!

There was a young bachelor from Chiswick
Who went by the name of Dick
He was tired of waiting
So tried speed dating
But he still couldn’t find a chick!

The witch played an awful trick
Her finger did the Princess prick
She slept for so long
Until Prince came along
Now Witchy’s banged up in the nick!

Thursday photo prompt – Peace – #writephoto

Sue’s back with her #WritePhoto Prompt this week!

“Now this,” tour guide Tim indicated, “is the famous bed!”
His words were greeted by coos of excitement and eightened whispers in all manner of languages.
The 20-strong group were the fifth he’d taken around today already.
“Yes, here is the bed where Snow White lay, after consuming that poisoned apple, given to her by her Evil Stepmother. Here is where the seven dwarves congregated each day and night, keeping watch over the body of their beautiful princess. And here is where the Prince came to kiss her, and wake her up!”
Cue the phone cameras and proper cameras clicking, image after image from all angles.
“What, you want to lay there and have your photo taken? With your own Prince Charming kissing you? Hmm… Well this is a historical landmark… I’m not sure I can bend the rules. If everyone was to request the same, the bed would be worn away by now. But, if you are prepared to make it worth my while…”
Pocketing another £50, Tim happily clicked photo after photo. Several others came over and requested a similar photo opportunity in various forms of Pidgin English
He led the group back to the coach half an hour later, patting his pocket… Nice little earner! These tourists are so stupid! Don’t they realise Sleeping Beauty was just a Fairy tale!
And that bed? Just knocked up by a friend of his! Or so he was told. Who cares, anyway? He was making a packet with this Fairytale tour!
Unbeknownst to him, seven pairs of eyes followed him back, peeking from a nearby bush…

#WRITESPIRATION #123 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 27 – Discovered Secrets

Sacha has another prompt for her #Writespiration challenge…

Your challenge is to write your story using the weekly theme/prompt and write it in just 52 words…. EXACTLY, no more, no less.

The secret you just discovered…

I wasn’t meant to see that…
There I was, opening up my payslip, knowing exactly what it would contain.
Such a relief that payday was here, I was short of money again this month.

I had to do a double take!
The name… not mine…
Ooops!
Hmmm, so that’s what she earns…..!
