“It snowed, I walked, and slipped – Inevitable, isn’t it?”
Ritu 2021
Don’t worry, Peeps. I am fine! Had to walk into school for a couple of days, due to ice and unsafe roads. Yesterday, I walked along, happy as Larry, and stepped on an old plasaatic advertising board that had fallen on the ground, and got covered in snow, so it wasn’t visible.
I felt the ground slip from beneath me. (Well, actually, it was the board, but you know what I mean!) Couldn’t do anything to stop it, and landed flat on my newly padded arse! Thank goodness for that extra Lockdown Layer that I have cultivated, while we have been too busy eating too much! A padded bum definitely cushioned my slip!

Ronovan’s weekly Haiku Challenge:
It’s no secret, how disappointed I am with the snow offering we had, here where I live, considering the Beast from the Baltic was meant to be visiting. My Haiku/Senryu is dedicated to that beast with less of a roar, and more of a whimper… though it did manage to close our school, because others were much luckier and couldn’t get in because they got several inches of snow, rather than our couple of centimetres!
Beast from the Baltic Comes at us baring sharp teeth But he barely bites! Ritu 2021

Well, lookie here, it’s Loveuary! February, the month of love has started, and we’ve enjoyed the first week. How was yours?
Now, grab your drink, I definitley need a hot one, as it is freezing, here!

This week, I’ll be busy with Hubby Dearest’s Birthday (today), and mother-in-law’s birthday (also, today) followed by craziness at work, with parents coming in to pick up resources, weather-pending, and another Google Meet with the CEO of our academy, so I can demonstrate the home learning we have to offer our pupils, alongside two of my colleagues. I’m also on duty, this week, so, again, weather-pending, will be with the Key Worker and Vulnerable kids this week. Fingers crossed for some good news from the viewings, and it will also be Valentines Day on Sunday. Oh, I do hope for that snow!!!
And while you’re here, did you sign up for my mailing list? I am in the middle of writing an exclusive Chickpea Curry Lit story for my subscribers, and there will be news, tips and even recipes! You know you want to join… go on! Click the pic below to sign up!

“Snow rouses your inner child to dream and play once more.”
Angie Weiland-Crosby
Thanks, Spidey! You know exactly what has been on our minds, recently, especially here in the South East!
We have had two weekends of hints that we will wake in the morning to a coating of the white stuff, but both weekends, here.
Nothing.
I seriously can’t explain the disappointment!
I may be a mid-forties aged woman, but there is still that excitement at waking in the morning, pulling your curtains open and seeing white blanketing the world.
So, we have been told, that on Sunday, which is today for you, but tomorrow for me, as I type this, The Beast from The Baltic, is coming to visit. And I hope that I wake to that white blanket!
It’s meant to be heavy, for us, tomorrow, and possibly continuing a little into Monday. Heaven knows what that means for school.
School snow days could be a thing of the past, now the world has become switched onto remote learning, but I do hope that most schools affected, take the initiative, and encourage children to get out there, with their families, and enjoy the time, together. We don’t see substantial snow often, here so the kids need to be able to enjoy. Imagine the postiive effect on their mental health!
Now, here’s hoping it actually materialises! I really don’t need another disappointment, and am holding onto that third time lucky thing! (Better get my wellies ready just in case!)
So… tell me, how do you feel about snow?

Have a peaceful Sunday Peeps.
