15 Years Married

Fifteen years ago today, I woke extra early.

I was primped and preened to perfection and dressed as a bride… your bride.

Five years, we had been waiting, to make this official, and finally the day was here.

It flew.

A magical day where I felt like a Princess, finally swept off her feet by her Prince Charming.

And the last fifteen years have flown equally fast.

Two beautiful children, one fur baby, our own home, and each other.

What more could I want?

Nothing more.

Just many more years, like the ones we have already spent together.

Wishing a Happy 15th Anniversary to my darling Hubby Dearest. I love youΒ soooooo much, and feel blessed to have you by my side πŸ’–

A joyful new beginning

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 91

img_0041

“No outward change need trouble him who is inwardly serene.” – Hosea Ballou

I think we are allΒ troubled, to some extent, by occurrences of this week.

We’ve had Donald Trump getting elected as President of the United States, a thought that didn’t even seem feasible! But then no one thought Brexit would have happened, and it did!

The Indian Prime Minister has decided to target black money circulating in India, and with no notice, has withdrawn 500 and 1000 rupee notes, causing havoc and commotion, not only among the ones who were illegally hoardingΒ cash, but also the many poorerΒ people who have no bank accounts, and can only use cash.

These are only two issues from the week, and they are biggies. The changes that will occur due to these two events will have a tsunami effect on millions of people.

In life though, it’s not only the big changes that can shock your world to the core. Some small changes affect certain people hugely.

From an upheaval at work, to a family member coming to stay. New baby on the way, or a death in the family. Your local supermarket changing theirΒ layout (that can be sooo stressful!) to traffic on the way to work.

But it’s all about how you handle these changes, however big or small. If you are sure of yourself on the inside, you can handle whatever comes your way.

It is so important to approach change with caution.
Try not to rush into any decisions, but take a little time to ponder.
Think about what the changes are, and how they are likely to affect you.
Try not to get worked up or over excited.
Control your feelings, so you don’t say anything you may regret.

They are all quite hard to do but I have seen others who take this approach, and they tend to not be overly affected by changes in their lives.

I try hard to be the same. It is not easy. I have a tendency to open my mouth then try so hard to push words back in, but it’s too late to stop them then! However, if I try hard to stay calm, stay rational, I can usually manage to cope with situations without putting my foot where it doesn’t belong!

Stay safe Peeps, and have a calm, and restful Sunday on this Armistice Day, with no major changes happening, unless they’re positive for you!!!!

The Mystery Blogger Award

myster-blog-award1

β€œMystery Blogger Award”is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts.  Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates.  They are one of the best out there and they deserve every recognition they get.  This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging and they do it with so much love and passion. – Okoto Enigma

The award was created by Okoto Enigma.  Here is the link: http://okotenigma.wordpress.com

  1. A huge thank you to Rob of Art By Rob Goldstein for considering me eligible for this award. It is not one that I have received before!

Rules For The Nominees:

  • Display the award logo on your blog. √
  • List the Rules. √
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog. √
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well. √
  • Tell your readers three things about yourself. √
  • Answer five questions from the nominee. √
  • Nominate anywhere from ten to twenty bloggers. √
  • Notify the bloggers by leaving a comment on their blog. √
  • Ask your nominees any five questions of your choice, including one weird or funny question. √
  • Share the link to your best post. √

Ok, so three things abut me…

  1. I am a British Indian woman, with a Kenyan background thrown in, thanks to my parents being born there.
  2. I wear many hats… Daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, teacher, blogger, author… I wonder where I have the time to sleep sometimes…
  3. I love to sing! I find a song for all occasions! And if I can’t find one, I’ll make one up!

5 questions to answer…

  1. Would you jump in front of a bus for a complete stranger? I think it depends on the situation. If I was with my children, I couldn’t leave them and put myself in danger. If I was alone, I would.
  2. If a neighbour was a hoarder and lived in unsafe and unhealthy conditions, would you ignore it or take action?  If you did, what would it be? It would depend on how well I knew the neighbour.
  3. If you could go back in time and change one day in your life, which day would it be and why? A bad decision I made a good few years back. I can;ty go into details, but that day comes back to haunt me regularly.
  4. What is your favourite word? I can’t have one favourite word, I’m a writer!!!
  5. The weird question:  If you knew you could get away with it, would you rob a bank? It would haunt me for the rest of my life, so no!

My nominees…

I know some don’t accept awards, so consider this a thank you for being such amazing writers, inspiring me in many ways!
