#SoCS July 15/17 – Book Title

Thank’s Linda for a real doozy this week!

The #SoCS prompt this week is…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “book title.” Take the title of the book you’re currently reading or the one sitting closest to you when you’re ready to write your SoCS post and base your post on the title only. I’m not asking for a book review or a synopsis, just whatever the title itself brings to mind. For example, Gone Girl makes me remember the first time I left home to live by myself. Or Lord of the Rings makes me think of all the rings I’ve owned in my life. Enjoy!

Ok, so the book I am currently reading is called My Dad Wrote a Porno: The fully annotated edition of Rocky Flintstone’s Belinda Blinked by Jamie Morton, James Cooper, Alice Levine and Jamie’s dad, Rocky Flintstone (Author Name obvs!)

Wow! So what came to mind when I thought of ‘My Dad Wrote A Porno’…

Noooooooo!!!!!!
OMG! That just could not happen!!!!! I can only think of my Pops as a spiritual, loving dad, with Yogic tendencies, not that Porn, or suchlike would ever be exposed to him!!! (literally, figuratively, EVER!)
And I am not even going to think any more about it lol!
I know they did ‘it’ at least twice, and my brother and I are proof of that, but apart from that… *fingers in ear* singing “nah nah nah nah nah nah nah! I can’t hear you !”

Sorry, Linda, that’s my lot, I feel a little disturbed now lol!!!!

Ritu’s Healthy Eating – Week 49 – #icandothis

Another week of tiredness, and still conscious efforts made to eat better.

Yes, there have been naughty snacks, and that Pizza meal happened, but here’s most of what I consumed last week!

Was it worth it though?

Well, it was indeed!

I lost that 1.5lb!

Yay!

Feeling more motivated despite the tiredness now!

Have a wonderfully healthy week Peeps, and when I log in to chat about weight next I’ll be euphoric because it will be that la\st day of school for the summer! One week to go!!!

Metamorphosis In Action

The life cycle of a butterfly.

It’s a common topic amongst classes in primary school.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar story is read and all sorts of songs are sung about the changes that happen in that life cycle.

And there are so many activities that come from the story!

We often have the caterpillars in a special net to watch turn into chrysalises then butterflies. In fact, one of my colleagues’ father breeds them so she will bring over 100 ready, in a special net enclosure for the children to watch, and when the resulting butterflies come out, they have a mass letting go session!

But nothing beats nature, let’s be honest!

A few weeks ago my class patiently planted some seeds and the Nasturtiums had grown, and were almost ready to flower… until we noticed that something had been eating them!

And what we found, or actually what my pupils found, was amazing! There were dozens of caterpillars!

As we hunted further, we found eggs and have been watching them over the last few days, and have a range of caterpillars now from 1 mm long to at least 4 cm! I am hoping they at least get to see some real chrysalises too before we break up!

They’ve not left much in the way of leaves on one side!

And we even found a cabbage white caterpillar!

As I said, there is nothing quite like Nature to teach a child a lesson!

Messenger #writephoto

Sue’s #Writephoto prompt this week.

corvid in flight - Sue Vincent

Black-winged messenger
Soaring through the skies
On a mission to deliver
Words to the unwise.

Black-winged messenger
Gliding to his destination
To speak his words of wisdom
To the assembled congregation

Black-winged messenger
With feathers widely fanned
Delivering a message
Bringing peace throughout the lands

#WRITESPIRATION #124 52 WEEKS IN 52 WORDS WEEK 28 – Holiday

Sacha’s prompt this week for #Writespiration.

Your challenge is to write your story using the weekly theme/prompt and write it in just 52 words…. EXACTLY, no more, no less.

The Holiday

Fun, she said.
It’ll be great, she said.
So far, we have endured a delayed flight, lost luggage, and a crappy hotel.
Add to that one day of blistering sunshine that has resulted in blistered shoulders, followed by torrential downpours, and food I wouldn’t even give to my dog!
Holiday, or Hell-iday?
