Monday Meh! (Again)

Forgive me if I am not as wordy for the next couple of weeks…

The end is in sight, but it still feels far away!

Two more weeks until I can slip my teacher hat off and actually relax!

But there are still plenty of jobs to get done before I can do that!

The school kids don’t know yet which teachers they are getting next year, so there is a little buzz around because there are some changes in place. We have met most of our new students, and half have visited us, but there are still a few more to come. There is all manner of paperwork that needs updating and sorting out before the year ends, to tie up loose ends, and prepare for the next academic year.

I will probably need to pencil in the first week of holidays as time to go back into school with my colleagues to prepare the classrooms too!

Then, my envisioned summer of writing and keeping the kids occupied took a different turn, when we got a sudden influx of wedding invites!

At least 4 weekends with functions, one in the week day, I need to figure out when we are going to spend a week with my parents, and we are going to try and get away last minute too!

But on the flip side, I managed to make it public in my household that I do intend to concentrate on writing during the break, so now I have said it, I gotta do it, eh! If my Hubby Dearest wants to be a kept man, funded by the spoilts of my best seller, he needs to let me write it, eh!

Back to the now…

I am falling asleep much earlier each night due to exhaustion.

I have mentioned being so tired in the past…

Actually, right now, I am just plain exhausted, and I do give a shit! I don’t like to leave my blogily hanging either! So I will be around, but I might not be as noisy as I usually am!

So I am off to drag myself into the shower, and get ready for the penultimate Monday of term… And I shall try not not yawn…but I can’t promise that!

Have a much perkier Monday than I think I’m going to have Peeps!

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 125

“Let your smile change the world, but don’t let the world change your smile.” – Connor Franta

What a beautiful quote Spidey found to ponder upon today!

It’s amazing what a simple smile can do.

A random smile from even a stranger can light up a dark moment for you.

To be greeted with a smile makes for a more positive start to each day.

I smile.

A LOT.

It gets commented on a lot too.

I am known for my positivity wherever I go.

When I was at university, I was described as ” That smiley, curly haired girl from Birmingham.”

One of my previous employers said to me that it was a pleasure to have me around as he could guarantee a smile whenever he saw me.

I’m not talking about sneers or sarcastic smiles, or cheesy grins, just genuine smiles.

And I smile pretty much all the time. It’s just me. It makes me who I am. It makes me feel happier in myself, and makes me look at all situations with a more positive eye.

Of course, there are times smiles are not appropriate, and I know that too.

You won’t find me grinning inanely at a funeral or at some sad or bad news.

But otherwise, it is there, more or less permanently.

Of course, there are always those who can’t stand a happy face! (Why ever not? Surely it’s good to smile!)

But I refuse to allow them to drag me down to their miserable depths!

Don’t they know how many facial muscles I am exercising every time I smile?! It’s my daily workout!

Have a Smiley, happy Sunday Peeps!

#SoCS July 8/17 – Ick

Linda’s prompt for #SoCS this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “ick.” Find a word with “ick” in it or use it as a word itself. Have fun!

A couple of limericks!

There was a young bachelor from Chiswick
Who went by the name of Dick
He was tired of waiting
So tried speed dating
But he still couldn’t find a chick!

The witch played an awful trick
Her finger did the Princess prick
She slept for so long
Until Prince came along
Now Witchy’s banged up in the nick!

Thursday photo prompt – Peace – #writephoto

Sue’s back with her #WritePhoto Prompt this week!

“Now this,” tour guide Tim indicated, “is the famous bed!”
His words were greeted by coos of excitement and eightened whispers in all manner of languages.
The 20-strong group were the fifth he’d taken around today already.
“Yes, here is the bed where Snow White lay, after consuming that poisoned apple, given to her by her Evil Stepmother. Here is where the seven dwarves congregated each day and night, keeping watch over the body of their beautiful princess. And here is where the Prince came to kiss her, and wake her up!”
Cue the phone cameras and proper cameras clicking, image after image from all angles.
“What, you want to lay there and have your photo taken? With your own Prince Charming kissing you? Hmm… Well this is a historical landmark… I’m not sure I can bend the rules. If everyone was to request the same, the bed would be worn away by now. But, if you are prepared to make it worth my while…”
Pocketing another ÂŁ50, Tim happily clicked photo after photo. Several others came over and requested a similar photo opportunity in various forms of Pidgin English
He led the group back to the coach half an hour later, patting his pocket… Nice little earner! These tourists are so stupid! Don’t they realise Sleeping Beauty was just a Fairy tale!
And that bed? Just knocked up by a friend of his! Or so he was told. Who cares, anyway? He was making a packet with this Fairytale tour!
Unbeknownst to him, seven pairs of eyes followed him back, peeking from a nearby bush…
