And I can finally confirm that the birthday part of the month is finally over! And my week off… Back to work today, but first, let’s chat abot the last week.
Have you grabbed your beverage of choice?

This week, as I mentioned earlier, we’re back to school. Well, I am, physically, anyway, on Monday. The kids start their virtual learning on Wednesday. But the biggest thing will be waiting for the announcement from BoJo, later today, letting the country know the government’s roadmap for getting the country back out of lockdown, hopefully, for the last time. I’m fully expecting to hear that schools, primary, at least, will be starting back on March 8th, and, maybe some of the exam year groups in Secondary schools, but aside from vaccinations going ahead, and most members of staff taking bi-weekly Covid tests, nothing has changed, so it just remains to be seen, as to whether schools are a vector for transmission, and numbers fluctuating. There has been no difference to our guidance, for safe schooling, no new ventilation systems in place, or the idea that maybe class sizes should be smaller to help with distancing. A blended approach with part in school and part home learning. Nope, Nothing like that has happened. I just pray that any decisions made are made with the right guidance. (Though, with their track record, I’m not too sure…)
And while you’re here, did you sign up for my mailing list? I am in the middle of writing an exclusive Chickpea Curry Lit story for my subscribers, and there will be news, tips and even recipes! You know you want to join… go on! Click the pic below to sign up!

Thank you Spidey, for finding such a lovely quote.
Yesterday, was Lil Princess’s birthday. My daughter turned teenager.
I am quite overwhelmed, you know, because, firstly, I am now a mother to two teenagers. So I feel old!
But mainly, because I don’t know where the last thirteen years disappeared to. It only feels like the other day that she arrived, kicking and screaming, into the world, and now, she’s nearly a woman!
When people say, ‘make the most of those young years’, they are right. At the time, you may be finding it hard to deal with young children, and you wish away the years where they won’t sleep, keep crying, asking “Why?”, follow you everywhere, even the loo.
But, honestly, you will suddenly find yourself here, like me, with the kids who are full of hormones, and they don’t actually want to be anywhere near you, (unless they want something, in which case they can be really sweel!), they don’t really talk to you, their rooms start to smell, because they live in mini pigstys, no matter how much you try to keep them tidy…
Then, the flip side, when they get older, they become mini friends. The conversations you can have with them, the jokes you can share, and, with my girl anyway, the advice and tips on hair, clothes and make-up! (Mind you, I really don’t care about those things, but if I ask her for help, she’s in her element!)
We enjoy music together, silly Netflix films and series. Baking together in the kitchen, girlie chats about life.
It’s all part of the joys of being a mother, you know, and though I miss my little squidgy baby, I have a beautiful young lady by my side, now, and she will always be my baby…
Happy Birthday, Lil Princess 💜

Have a peaceful, love-filled Sunday Peeps.

Linda’s #SoCS prompt this week:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nerve.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
It really gets on my nerves, you know, how some people are still spouting about COVID-19 and all it’s global implications being a hoax, or a conspiracy theory. Or, that they have lockdown fatigue, and genuinely don’t care anymore, so are beginning to flout rules.
You guys. You are the ones who might end up pushing us back into more lockdowns, if you can’t understand how this thing works. Yes, it’s a virus, and there are plenty out there, but, like various illnesses, they vary in severity, and this one, well, we all know how awful it is.
Just look at the death rates, and way hopsital ICUs are packed. Or take a look at the long term side effects that some people are suffering from: Long Covid. Previously healthy folk, reduced to shells of themselves.
At least we have this vaccine. It might help a little. We may need one annually, but hey, if it gets us out of this mess, I’m game.
Shame not everyone is.
Jsut last night, Lil Man and I were out for a walk and as we walked through town, a woman passed a man she knew. She called out “You getting your vaccination, then?”
His response? “The f*** I am!” He gave her the middle finger salute and waltzed off.
I actually write a huge amount more, but had to delete it because I was getting too het up.
Seriously, my nerves are frayed, now!
(I’m glad I wrote this last night, because I wouldn’t want to spend Saturday wound up, since it’s Lil Princess’s birthday, today!)
