Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 153

img_00411

“It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.” – Robert H. Schuller

A lovely quote Spidey, thank you.

See, running along the tracks of my thoughts this year, Spidey found another great thought encouraging positive thinking.

I can speak from experience, and confirm that if you hang on to that one positive, even in a sea of negatives, you can survive, float to the top, and sail the seas of life with happiness.

Stey positive Peeps and enjoy your Sunday !!!!!

Make sure you turn that negative into a positive, Peeps!

#SoCS Jan. 20/18 – #JusJoJan Day 20 – Oc

Linda’s prompt for SoCS this week…

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “oc.” Find a word that starts with “oc” and use it in your post. Bonus points if you start and end with your post with an “oc” word. Have fun!

Occasionally, I wonder what it would have been like to have been the mother of multiple birth babies, you know, twins.

The year I was married we had 3 sets born in our family and close friends. I have a set of cousins who are twins, and their sister gave birth to 2 sets as well.

After marriage, one of my cousin’s daughters fancied herself as a palmist, and read my palm, telling me I would have triplets!

Obviously that didn’t happen!

But is it double the fun? Or double trouble? It would be 100% a full time occupation!

There are so many hardships: the expense, the lack of time and arms, the tiredness, the juggling schedules… but the joys you get are also double, and if you were looking for a ready-made family, then getting two for one is a perfect deal!

Triplets or any more would just be being greedy, and as for that mum who had eight – Octomum – that’s just crazy… octuplets!

That’s it for me today!

Happy Saturday Peeps!

January 18 – Flash Fiction – Boots

Charli’s prompt this week:

January 18, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story that includes boots. Whose boots are they, where do they go and what is their significance? Go where the prompt leads.

Hmmm… here’s where my mind went…

Big Boots
I watched him in awe, as he tossed the dough from side to side, stretching it expertly, before allowing it to come to rest on the large wooden spatula.
A thin layer of tomato sauce, Mama’s special recipe, and a sprinkling of mozzarella, before a sprig of basil was added, then off it went to bake.
And he was leaving.
Mama was devastated.
Antonio was off to travel the world, leaving the family pizzeria in my hands, and I’d never been anywhere near as good as him at making pizza.
He was leaving big boots for me to fill.

Then my mind continued to wander (wearing those boots)…

Platforms
Never criticise a neighbour before walking a mile in his moccasins.
That’s what the proverb said.
Looking at the height of the heels on my neighbour’s boots, and the shiny patent leather, stretching all the way up to mid-thigh, I thought I’d rather not walk a metre, let along a mile.
Who am I to judge, anyway?
If Peter wants to spend his days being an accountant, trussed up in a suit and tie, and the evenings dressed up as Petra the pole-dancing drag queen, that’s his (or should it be her?) choice!
I’ll just stick to my trainers…

#JusJoJan – January 19th, 2018 – Revolt

Day nineteen of #JusJoJan!

I’m going to try to write on each of the prompts!

Today the prompt is:

Your prompt for January 19th, 2018, brought to you by dear Kerry, is “Darkness.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Kerry at her blog, “Her Headache” to read her post and say hi! Here’s her link:  https://kkherheadache.wordpress.com/

Thanks, Kerry!

Darkness

Following every period of darkness, is light.

Sometimes that dark night seems neverending, but fear not, it will come to an end.

And light will shine upon your life.

It’s true though, that light and dark are part of a cycle, and darkness will come again, but just remember, that light is there, at the end of the tunnel, every time.

It’s what will pull you through those dark times.

Keep shining Peeps 🙂

See you tomorrow!

#WritePhoto – Distance

Sue’s #WritePhoto Prompt this week:

I thought I’d continue the adventures of Barbie and Ken.

Ken stretched his arms and rolled his shoulders. It had been a cramped flight, but they were the only seats available at such short notice. After a manly chat with Joey, they came to the conclusion that absence makes the heart grow fonder, as the saying went.
“A bit of distance between the two of you’ll be a good thing bruv!” Joey said as he pulled his coat tighter. “But couldn’t we find somewhere warmer to go?”
The snow-topped Scottish mountains could be seen in the distance.
“Yeah, I know… still, at least I won’t have any distractions here. I can just relax, and hopefully, Barbie will realise she misses me.”
“Yeah, yeah, right. So, where’s the nearest pub?” Joey hailed a cab to take them to the hotel.
As they sat in the car, they were unaware of a pair of eyes watching them.
Sindy slipped her sunglasses back on, and jumped in the next taxi. Instructing the driver to ‘follow that cab’ she sat back. What was the point in working for the local travel agent, if she couldn’t find out where her ‘friends’ were flying off too?
To be continued…
