Knuckling Down #MondayBlogs

It’s the first time in a long while, that I haven’t had something specific planned for a Monday morning post.

Today I woke, got myself settled, checked my reader, emails, notifications across Social Media, then realised the date.

31st July.

That means that tomorrow, the 1st August, is when I promised myself (rather publically) that I would concentrate on my writing.

No pressure eh!

Soooo… What to do?

I can’t say goodbye to you all for a month, because that is just not the way I am!

But I guess I shall have to cut down on my general posts for a while, unless something really inspires me to write (and it will… it always does!)

I am going to keep up with all the weekly challenges that I participate in, and my Friday Healthy eating update and Spidey on a Sunday, but the rest, may just fall a little by the wayside.

But that doesn’t mean I am not here, oh no!

I’ll still be around, reading your wonderful posts, and interacting with you.

I’ll just be a little stricter with myself, and limit it to certain times of the day (yeah right!)

So I am off now to enjoy my last No Pressure day before something will miraculously start appearing on my screen, as August inspires me to write!

Spidey’s Serene Sunday – Part 128

“The trick is to enjoy life. Don’t wish away your days, waiting for better ones ahead.” – Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Wise words that Spidey found today!

It is all to easy to wait for that special time, when you are convinced certain things will happen.

We can wish our whole lives away, waiting for Friday, for the holidays, for the day some publisher finds our writing and makes us an overnight author sensation (just me?).

But what about all the days in between?

There is so much to be grateful for each and every day, some things are small, some huge, but each and every event in your life play a part in slowly forming the person you are destined to become.

We need to learn to take each day as it comes, appreciate the day to day things, then when those special days come, they will feel all the more special because you have been so busy enjoying life that you forgot to focus purely on one thing.

Have a blessed Sunday Peeps!

Off to an engagement in an hour so I can’t go mad with my haiku, but here is one, using the words.

The way I see it
We are all from the same tree
Each of us a leaf

And a Tanka from the photo!

Standing quietly
A leaf of paper floats down
I look up, he smiles
Love letters sent from above
Italian romance starts

#SoCS July 29/17 – Limb

Linda’s #SoCS prompt this week…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “limb.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Funny, this should be the prompt that Linda decided on for this week!

The other day, Lil Man, being cricket obsessed, has been begging anyone to go and play int he garden with him, to practice his batting and bowling skills.

Being rather tired still, I have avoided it at all costs (that and the fact I am NOT SPORTY AT ALL!) but this time, after a whole day of him whining, I decided to help him out, nice mummy that I am!

So there I was, at the wicket, wielding my bat, and I did pretty good, even if I do say so myself. Despite having a bat at least six inches too short, he didn’t get me out… but I did manage to sustain a few hits to my limbs! (See, got it in there!) My thigh, one knee and the other shin got whacked by stray balls.

Still, standing strong, I managed to stay in, until we had to run in from rogue showers!

The next day, after a particularly successful trip to the hairdressers with Lil Princess, she wanted braids, I decided I needed to embark upon some epic hair removal. The kids are threatening to cause havoc if I don’t take them swimming, so I had to get prepared.

Got me a new bikini waxing set, and then set about epilating the nether regions, as well as my lower limbs, when I noticed a bruise on my shin.

Lovely! That’ll look great at the party we are attending tonight! At least the sari will cover it! And there’s no hair!

Summer Writing Plans!

If you have been reading my blog you will have heard me mention that I am going to attempt to get more writing done on my Teenage WIP this holiday.

Life is never so easy though.

When I made these little promises to myself, you know August being a mini RiNoWriMo (Ritu’s Novel Writing Month!), I didn’t know that the family was about to throw six thousand functions at us too!

(Ok, six thousand is a bit of an exaggeration but still, you get my drift?)

So, four weddings, consisting of at least eight functions, a couple of prayers at the temple, along with play dates with the kids friends, and of course, working out when I can spend a week with my parents means that this particular idea is not really going to work as I had hoped!

But I am still determined to do something.

Last night, I dug out the printed version of what I have done so far, and my original notebook with my story plans sketched out. I have post it notes ready, and I thought why not use one of the lovely gifts from my class (a diary) to keep track of when I can write, and how much I manage!

So, I have to admit to myself, that it may not be a completed first draft by the end of my summer holidays, but it should be a much more beefed up version!

As soon as Hubby Dearest leaves for work, I should get on my PC or sit with my notes, and try and use that peaceful time when the kids are asleep, to progress further…

Well, that’s the plan, anyway!

Wish me luck, and keep pushing me Peeps! I need you to make me carry on!
